And the alligator goes SNAP

My boys have a typical older brother/younger brother relationship. Nick thinks his older brother is the be all and end all and Jay quite frankly loves to terroize Nick. I'm always bracing myself for what Jay will do next. Jay's impulsivity, his physicalness and love of sending his brother over the edge is often times just a bad combination. No one can make Nick angrier than Jay and Nick is my happy go lucky child but he can turn as red as a lobster with steam coming out of his ears within 10 seconds of Jay threatening his penguins or giraffes! But as is typical with a younger sibling........Nick takes his lead from Jay. No matter how much Jay has terrorized Nick during the day, Nick forgets every "bad deed" his brother has done to him if Jay asks him to do something with him. And sometimes Nick walks right into Jay's trap. It's like watching an alligator come up every so slowly to his prey and when they aren't suspecting a thing their big jaws come out and go SNAP!!! There are some days - this being one of them - that I see Jay demonstrate the wonderful qualities of what a great big brother he is. They have enjoyed playing "Monster Jam" on the living room floor together and Jay taught Nick how to play the game, "Sorry." And as I've blogged before there is no one who has Nick's back more than Jay..........Jay can terrorize Nick all he wants but by-golly nobody else better.

This made me laugh. Holden and Hunter already display the love/hate relationship that is the brother dynamic. Holden will rip toys out of Hunter's hands-and now that Hunter is bigger-it goes both ways! BUT-just like your boys, nobody better mess with Hunter other than Holden! He is ferociously protective of him-when he's not tackling him, taking away his toys, splashing him in the bathtub, etc.
